Reading
Math
Students will read a book (on their level) every night for at least 20 minutes, a book of their choice. Each night they will need to complete their reading log in their homework folder/book. This log will change a few times throughout the year so I can learn more about their reading lives. Each Friday, I will check for completion of their log and they will be rewarded with DOJO points. The main goal for this assignment is to get them reading daily, become fluent and confident readers, and to truly fall in love with reading.
The students will have to practice their math facts each night. Occasionally there will be one to two additional practice problems on top of this assignment. The goal is to strengthen their mathematics skills and automaticity, fall in love with math, and want to become mathematicians.
